Manufactured in 1919. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. Features rear slide serrations, barrel polished at the chamber and muzzle and blue magazine marked "CAL.38 / COLT" on the bottom. Left side of the slide is roll stamped with the standard two block two line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The upper left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "T" assembler's mark above the Colt "VP/triangle" proofmark, and "48" on the opposite. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center.

Excellent plus. The pistol retains 99% plus original bright blue finish with some barely noticeable minor "freckling" present on the muzzle end of the slide. The hammer retains nearly all of the vivid original case colors. The grips are also excellent. The markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
