Description:

Manufactured in 1915, this rifle was later released from government stores for private sale via the Director of Civilian Marksmanship; these rifles received the distinctive "(bomb)/N.R.A." stamp ahead of the magazine floorplate to distinguish them from the arms still in the military inventory . Blade front and folding ladder rear sights (with volley notch), with a "SA/11-15" barrel and a casehardened receiver. The smooth straight wrist stock with "J.S.A." on the left side, circled script "P" on the underside of the wrist, and a sharply checkered buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing some mild spotting, areas of brown patina and light handling marks. The receiver shows a strong, dark casehardened finish, with traces of brighter color on the bolt catch. The stock is very fine, with some light scratches and dings overall, and a few small nicks visible around the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
