Manufactured in 1943, as part of a special run of 1903A4 receivers destined for use as a dedicated sniper rifle. The original sights are properly absent, with a Remington "3-43" barrel, "R" marked bolt with properly turned and contoured handle, and the properly offset manufacturer, model and serial number markings on the receiver ring. A parkerized Redfield scope base is mounted to the receiver, and the installed Weaver scope has the standard M73B1 data plate and electro-penciled "20113" serial number on the body. Smooth pistol grip stock with "crossed cannons" and "FJA" on the left side, a circled "P" and an uncircled "W" on the wrist, a brown leather sling and a flat checkered steel buttplate. Includes a copy of Rock Island Depot invoice/shipping document.

Excellent, with 95% plus original parkerized finish, showing mild handling marks and edge wear overall. 90% original blue is present on the bolt and barrel bands. The otherwise very fine stock has patches of black paint or dye on the right side of the wrist, with scattered scuffs, scratches and deep gouges visible on lower and top right rear. The optics show a slight haze (may improve with cleaning but not guaranteed), with the crosshairs showing a bit of fraying but otherwise solid. The exterior retains 97% original blue. Mechanically excellent.
