Per the included certificate, this pistol was part of the initial deployment of the U.S. M17 MHS Pistol in American service, most of which were issued to the 101st and 82nd Airborne divisions for field testing. A variant of the SIG 320 modular pistol, the M17 integrates an ambidextrous thumb safety to the modular fire control unit, with illuminated night sights, optics mounting point on the slide, "+P" weight recoil spring, and coyote brown metal and polymer finish. The grip frame features the grip size marking "M" (Medium) above the integrated lanyard loop on the back strap. As with the P320 it is derived from, the M17 allows for the grip frame to easily be switched out to a larger or smaller model to better fit the shooter. The shipping box is a numbered match to the pistol and identifies it as "UDM17-9-SURPLUS", and contains two extra magazines, a standard weight recoil spring, cable lock, and papers.

Excellent overall, retaining 98% original coyote tan finish on the slide and controls with handling marks that show signs of in-theater use and some finish darkening on the slide. The grip stippling shows similar signs of use. The baseplate of the 17 round magazine deep scratches on the right side. Mechanically excellent.
