This is a outstanding example of an original DWM Model 1906 Commercial Luger that was manufactured expressly for sale in Germany and Europe. These are true European commercial contract Luger pistols. This example has the blank chamber area, short style frame and upper receiver, 1906-style 4 3/4 inch fast taper barrel, grip safety and no stock lug. The extractor is marked "GELADEN", and it still has the first pattern, polished lower safety area. Numbered in the commercial style with full serial number stamped on the underside of the barrel and front of the frame and the last two digits of the serial number (66) stamped on the various small parts. The underside of the barrel is stamped with the commercial "Crown/B", "U", and "G" proofs, with the left side of the barrel extension, breech block and toggle stamped with the "Crown/B" and "U" proofs. It is fitted with one original commercial magazine with the nickel plated magazine body and unmarked wooden base. This Luger is complete with an original 1906 pattern leather holster. The holster has a single small belt loop on the back side (and is not a converted military version), is marked on top of the flap "G. REINHARDT/BERLIN", and is complete with brass cleaning rod with steel oiler on the end and an unmarked takedown tool.
Excellent with 99% of the blue finish overall and 90% of the straw colors on the various smaller parts. The grips are also excellent with nice sharp distinct checkering on both sides. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in exceptionally fine condition with only minor wear on the flap and some scratches on the front of the holster. The markings are clear and distinguishable. An exceptional example of a commercial DWM Model 1906 Luger Semi-automatic pistol.
