Made in Belgium prior to the German invasion in 1940, and properly devoid of the Occupation-era proofs. The standard three-line address and Browning patent markings are present on the left side of the slide, with "crown/PH" proofs on the left side of the frame and Liege proofs on the slide, frame and chamber and matching numbers on the same. Outfitted with blade front and tangent rear sights, a ring hammer, magazine well safety and a pair of checkered walnut grips. The included stock is of the "board" pattern, with a "C in box" stamp on the unnumbered iron, "crown/GC" on the left side, and a leather holster secured with brass rivets.
Excellent, with 97% plus original blue finish, showing some light edge and cycling wear overall. The grips are very good, with a few minor dings on the otherwise sharp checkering. The stock is also excellent, with a few stains and handling marks on the wood and leather and a small amount of verdigris buildup around the brass components. Mechanically excellent.
