Description:

Manufactured by the firm of V. Charles Schilling of Suhl, the Bergmann was developed in the mid 1890s, improved upon by Louis Schmeisser, and was produced in limited numbers. Blade front and notch rear sights, German "crown/crown/U" proofs, Schilling "mountain man" oval logo on the right side of the frame, and a series of numbers on the individual components to denote order of disassembly. Fitted with a straw finished trigger and hammer, niter blue safety, and checkered walnut grips. Provenance: The Clive Cussler Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored, with 95% high polish blue finish overall, with some fading of the markings, a small amount of sub-surface pitting, and mild handling marks overall. Some driver marks are present on the screws, with the small parts retaining bright straw finish and 80% vivid niter blue on the safety. Some light dings and dents are present on the grips. Mechanically excellent.
