Developed in the 1980s for use by East German special police formations, the SSG82 follows most of the design principles of a civilian target rifle, while chambered to accept the Communist Bloc standard 5.45x39mm cartridge. Manufactured without sights with a factory fitted Zeiss ZF4/S scope numbered to the gun, adjustable trigger, free floating hammer forged target crowned barrel, and detachable box magazine. Stippled hardwood target style stock with finger grooves and adjustable buttplate with spacers. The underside of the barrel is marked "FAJAS GERMANY SSG82 5.45x39 CAI ST. ALB. VT.".
Very fine, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall and a plum tone to the front scope base. The stock is very good, with some flattening of the textured areas and minor scuffs and scratches overall. The optics are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
