Manufactured from 1964 to 1970, these Colt "Kit Guns" were produced with target shooters in mind, often being shipped without sights to be assembled by skilled gunsmiths with whatever sights the shooter preferred. This is one of only approximately 1,050 such kit guns manufactured in .45 ACP, with the remainder being manufactured in .38 Special. The left side of the slide has the Colt ".45 ACP/KIT" marking and Rampant Colt while the right has the Colt address. The serial number is on the right of the frame and the trigger guard is marked "B" on the left and "0" on the right. It is fitted with a serrated Patridge blade front sight and Micro adjustable rear sight, checkered grips with Rampant Colts, serrated trigger, long grip safety, and an arched serrated mainspring housing.
