Manufactured from 1964 to 1970, these Colt "Kit Guns" were produced with target shooters in mind, often being shipped without sights to be assembled by skilled gunsmiths with whatever sights the shooter preferred. This is one of only approximately 1,050 such kit guns manufactured in .45 ACP, with the remainder being manufactured in .38 Special. The left side of the slide has the Colt ".45 ACP/KIT" marking and Rampant Colt while the right has the Colt address. The serial number is on the right of the frame and the trigger guard is marked "B" on the left and "0" on the right. It is fitted with a serrated Patridge blade front sight and Micro adjustable rear sight, checkered grips with Rampant Colts, serrated trigger, long grip safety, and an arched serrated mainspring housing. Fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with some mild chemical type discoloration near the muzzle on the slide and some scattered light handling marks. The warped grips are fair with the right panel cracked and chipped at the bottom and otherwise mostly crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
