Description:

British antique ivory handled cane with concealed percussion pistol. Handle features a floral engraved silver band (British proofed) marked "W.H. Mitchell" in a border. To remove the pistol, pull the handle away from the shaft. The pistol itself features a fixed bayonet underneath it's 3 1/4 inch barrel. The pistol loads from it's muzzle end with powder patch and ball. The barrel is able to be unscrewed from the rear section to reveal a nipple on its back side in which a percussion cap may be placed. To cock, pull the spring-loaded top section of the round metal cocking mechanism away from the handle. Fire by pressing down on the trigger. Provenance: The Larry Mattson Collection

Rating Definition:

Very good with some scattered light scratches and cracks on the shaft, some patches of light scattered pitting visible on the pistol, and some cracks on the otherwise fine handle. Mechanically excellent.
