Wooden cane with a shaft that is carved with six segments that taper down in diameter disguising a concealed 21 1/4 inch sword and a fully functional flintlock smoothbore pistol that is removed by pushing a spring loaded button on the left. The pistol has a flip out trigger, marked "-PRICE-/INVENTOR" on the left, "227 STRAND/LONDON" on the right, and "657 on the wood handle. The sword is finished nitre blue on the bottom half of the blade with gilt floral inlays. The outside of the locking collar of the cane is engraved in script "Cooper". Provenance: The Larry Mattson Collection
Very good with some light related scratches and age related cracks in the wood. Pistol is fine overall and has some smooth scattered brown patina. Mechanically excellent. Blade has been rewelded together near mid-section. Balance of blade retains much of the original nitre blue and gilt.
