Description:

This 12 1/8 x 22 1/8 inch print of cattle on the prairie in Montana appears unmarked (possibly covered by matting) but is almost certainly the work of L.A. Huffman, and "SPEAR ROUNDUP" inscribed label on the lower matting. The frame measures 18 5/8 x 28 5/8 inches. The paper backing of the frame is marked "D.Koster". Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931) was among the few photographers to capture ranching life in Montana in the late 19th century and enlarged many of his earlier photographs later in his life. Provenance: The John Fox Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine with distinct image and very minimal wear on print, matting, and frame.
