Manufactured circa 1812-1830. This exact musket is described and photographed on pages 250-251 of George D. Moller's book "American Military Shoulder Arms Volume II" in which the book states, "The 38 7/16" barrel of this brass-mounted New England militia musket is stamped 'NA,' 'P,' and New York's ownership mark, 'SNY.' However, it is possible that this barrel was salvaged from a state contract musket and was subsequently used in the assembly of this arm, which is attributed to militia use." Mounted in a full length walnut stock with brass fittings and a checkered wrist. "I&H/MEACHAM/WARRANTED" marked at the center of the sporting style lock. I&H Meacham was based out of Albany, New York. "3" is marked at the left of the breech, on the sideplate, and on the left of the stock wrist. A bayonet lug was originally underneath the barrel towards the muzzle but has been removed at some point. "GDM" (George D. Moller) collection initials marked at the toe of the stock.
