The included factory letter confirms the 7 1/2 inch barrel in .38-40 and blue finish. The revolver was sold and shipped to Murta Appleton & Co. of Philadelphia, PA on August 25, 1923. Standard one line address on top of the barrel, caliber marking on the left of the barrel, and two-line patent dates followed by Rampant Colt on the left of the frame. Matching numbers on the frame and right side of the grips straps, and hand marked on the inside of each grip panel. The left side of the forward grip strap carries an additional number "341442" which in the writer's opinion is a factory error.
Fine, retaining 90% factory refinished blue finish and 75% case colors with some handling marks, a cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
