Manufactured in 1911. Fixed sights, with the standard Colt address, caliber and patent markings on the barrel and the "C" backed Rampant Colt trademark on the left side of the frame. The underside of the barrel has the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "R.A.C." (Rinaldo Carr) stamps, "WGP" monogram and "R.A.C." on the right side of the frame, "R.A.C." on the rear cylinder face and "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1909/No/48/162" on the butt around the lanyard swivel. The trigger and the top/back of the hammer are finished in a fine nitre blue, and a set of smooth Carr-inspected grips are installed. Provenance: The Dr. Robert Azar Collection
Excellent, retains 95% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish and 95% plus of the original nitre blue with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily in the form of the light muzzle/edge wear. The grips are very fine with a few minor chips around the bottom edge and some scattered minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
