A takedown variant of the Type 99 Arisaka, designed to be carried disassembled by paratroopers when jumping and then put together on the ground. Features blade front and folding rear sights with anti-aircraft wings, intact mum on the receiver, "720" assembly numbered stock irons, barrel, and receiver, smooth pistol grip stock with cupped buttplate, and the matching partial serial number on the bayonet lug and bolt components. The dust cover has the matching number on the rear. Includes a rare Type 100 bayonet numbered 8598 on the rear with sheath and leather frog.
Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered light wear and brown speckling. The wood is very fine with some scattered light dings and scratches throughout. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet and scabbard are both excellent show minimal wear, retaining most of the original finish and the otherwise fine frog is missing the buckle and shows some mild wear.
