Manufactured in 1898 for the government of Chile. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with an untouched Chilean crest on the receiver ring, the three-line DWM model and address markings on the left side of the receiver, and matching numbers on the receiver, stock, bolt, trigger guard, floorplate, and cleaning rod. An attractive niter blue finish is present on the bolt catch, follower and sight elevator. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a brown leather sling and a flat steel buttplate.
Excellent, with 98% original blue finish, showing some light dings on the trigger guard, mild scuffing and wear on the buttplate, bright edge wear and minor handling marks overall. A small amount of discoloration is present on the otherwise bright bolt. The wood is very fine, with some dents and scuffs concentrated around the buttplate and rear sight. Mechanically excellent.
