Manufactured in 1920 and subsequently upgraded to current configuration by Griffin & Howe in New York City. This rifle features a heavy barrel marked "No 125 Griffin & Howe, Inc. New York" on top and "30-06 Gov." on the chamber with a ramped beaded blade front sight. The front receiver ring has the standard Model 1903 marking and the rear ring is fitted with an adjustable peep sight. Mounted in a checkered walnut pistol grip stock with horn forend tip and grip cap, shadow line Swiss cheek piece, and checkered steel buttplate.
Very fine as professionally custom upgraded by Griffin & Howe. Retaining 85% plus custom blue finish with some minor handling marks and thinning to brown on the bottom metal. Wood is very fine with scattered light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. One will look a long time to find a finer Griffin & Howe 1903!
