Originally produced in March of 1943 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration, a procedure more typically performed on Springfield-made M1 receivers. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights, "DRC" windage drum, "W.R.A." bolt, trigger guard, trigger housing, safety, hammer, and relief cut operating rod. The right receiver leg bears the "TE/1-69" electropencil rebuild mark. The stock is unmarked except for an uncircled "P" on the wrist. The shipping box has labels identifying the Anniston Depot as the point of origin and numbered to match the rifle, with a number of accessories still in their sealed packaging, including the M84 scope, cheekpiece, flash hider and cleaning tools.

Exceptionally fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D, with 99% of the arsenal parkerized finish, showing mild edge wear and handling marks. The stock is fine as arsenal repaired, with some replaced wood around the magazine, cracking and chipping of the front handguard, and scattered dents and scratches. The accessories appear to be in fine order, but have not been unsealed for inspection. Mechanically excellent.
