The included Smith & Wesson factory letter confirms the current 6 1/2 inch barrel length, blue finish, checkered walnut grips, and most importantly, the .45 Colt chambering, when it was delivered to Camfour Inc. of Springfield, MA, on June 17, 1954. As one of only 200 of this model produced in .45 Colt, the right side of the barrel is properly roll marked and the frame has the standard four-line trademark with the S&W logo on the sideplate. This revolver is from the collection of world famous American country singer and song writer Hank Williams Jr. and includes a certificate of authenticity confirming his ownership as well as the aforementioned factory letter which is address to him. Provenance: The Hank Williams Jr.'s Collection
Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, limited handling evidence, light cylinder drag line, and sharp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
