Manufactured in 1981 and fabulously deluxe custom engraved to the specifications of country music icon Hank Williams Jr. This rare special order 3 inch Model 49 features near full coverage floral scroll engraving with areas of matted background and what appears to be a satyr on the right of the frame and an eagle head on the left. Single gold bands at the muzzle and rear of the cylinder, gold inlaid "HANK WILLIAMS JR." down the back strap, a relief gold inlaid bust of Hank Williams Sr. in the most recognized image of his career; wearing a 1950s pinstripe suit while seated on stage playing guitar, and skeletonized trigger guard chiseled in the form of a guitar. The engraver's signature is below the relief inlay and reads "ENGR./BY/D. JOAQUIM". The grips are incised and the right panel bears a gold inlaid treble clef. Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes, limited handling evidence, and slight aged hue to the cylinder. The grips have some minor discoloration, otherwise they are excellent. The case and box are both very fine with minor storage type wear.
