Description:

This Elisha Buell flintlock musket is attributed as being made for the Connecticut militia circa 1815-1820, with a few different variants of his muskets known. "Eagle/MARLBOROUGH" marked at the center of the lock and "E. BUELL" at the tail of the lock. Information on Elisha Buell can be found on pages 202-203 and 209-210 of George D. Moller's book "American Military Shoulder Arms Volume II". "GDM" (George D. Moller) collection initials marked at the toe of the stock. Includes socket bayonet and reproduction leather sling. Rating Definition:

Very good with mottled brown patina overall, some scattered light pitting, and mostly legible lock markings. Stock is also very good as re-oiled with some scratches, a chip above the front band spring, a crack ahead of the trigger guard finial, cracks ahead of and above the side plate, a chip on the left flat, and a chip ahead of the lock. Mechanically fine. Included bayonet is good with mottled brown patina and scattered patches of moderate pitting.
