Manufactured in 1928 on the desirable 000 frame. Blued steel barrels with single steel bead front sight on the matted, concave solid rib which is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. VULCAN. STEEL.", 2 1/2 inch chambers with single extractor, and choke constrictions of .010/.009 inches (modified/modified). The case hardened action displays the standard light zig-zag border engraving with "PARKER BROS" marked on either side. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered, splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release along with the round knob pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and reproduction dog's head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed on page 564 of "Parker Gun Identification and Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. According to the chart on page 258 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only 463 guns were ever built with this combination of barrel length and gauge, making this quite a rare gun. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 2 oz.
Very fine, retaining 97% original blue on the barrels, 50% original case colors, some scattered minor spotting, some oxidation on the action, and mild handling evidence. The trigger guard and forend iron retain 99% of their reapplied finishes. The replacement wood is also very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
