Manufactured in 1915. Dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib, light engraving on the sides of the chamber, choke constriction of .031 inches, and 3 inch chambers with automatic ejector. The casehardened boxlock action displays floral scroll engraving surrounding a pointer in a field on the left, a mallard in flight on the underside, a setter in a field on the right, and a woodcock on the trigger guard. Highly figured, fancy fleur-de-lis checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and push button release and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, "W.S.S." marked inscription shield, and added red rubber recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 15 oz.
Very fine, retaining 95% original blue, 50% original case colors with the balance a mix of brown and grey patina, scattered light spotting, and mild handling evidence. The wood is also very fine with a few light marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
