Smith & Wesson zero prefix serial numbered guns, such as this revolver, were referred to as "Club Guns" as many were shipped to clubs for shooting prizes and to notable shooters and S&W company personnel. The matching zero prefix serial number appears on the front strap, cylinder, and barrel. The extended S&W medallion checkered grips are unnumbered. This revolver model was introduced in 1911 and production ceased in 1941. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection
Excellent, retaining 97% original blue finish with some scattered light spotting and a significant gouge on the left side of the frame behind the recoil shield. 95% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
