Description:

With the lowest production numbers of all the M1 Carbine suppliers of World War II, Rock-Ola Carbines are already scarce, with a top quality presentation gun such as this being especially rare, worthy of a place of honor in an advanced collection. Manufactured circa 1943-1944, as part of Rock-Ola's second to last serial number block. Standard markings on the front receiver ring, the rear of the receiver is marked "ROCK-OLA/EX-6095439", and "ROCK-OLA" on the recoil plate and barrel. Correctly marked parts, with the early features produced during this time period, such as the Type II barrel band, flip rear sight, unmarked push button safety, the smooth face/unmarked M1 type magazine catch and two rivet handguard. The various parts are marked as follows: rear sight "RR"; bolt "ROCK-OLA"; extractor "R"; operating slide, "ROCK-OLA"; trigger guard "ROCK-OLA"; hammer "LTQ-R"; recoil shield "ROCK-OLA" magazine "R-O". Fitted with a low wood stock, made from attractively figured walnut and made without the oiler and sling cutouts, showing a fine tiger stripe pattern down the length. The carbine is housed in a hand made deluxe walnut display case that has a small brass presentation plaque on the inside of the lid which reads, MANUFACTURED BY/ ROCK-OLA MANUFACTURING CORP./800 NO. KEDZIE AVE./CHICAGO. ILLINOIS/CARBINE, CAL..30,M-1/EX-6095439. The case includes twenty extra magazines in individual grease paper wrappings.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 98% original bright polished blue finish remains with some takedown wear on the barrel, plum coloration on the operating rod, moderate cycling marks on the bolt, and some light edge wear. The stock and handguard set are also excellent with rich color, highly attractive figure, and a few visible dings on the buttstock. Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine with some small dings and storage marks on the exterior, moderate wear on the interior lining, and heavy wear on the leather handle.
