Description:

Hooded blade front and folding ladder rear sight, with a "RA/2-42" barrel and "R" marked rear sight, bayonet lug, cut off, bolt, and bolt safety. The left side of the rear sight base is marked with a series of British inspection marks, including a "crown/BMP" Birmingham proof and tonnage/caliber markings, and a band around the forearm appears to be aggressively cleaned; while not documented, these proof marks and a painted red band around the forearm (or evidence of such a band being scoured off) are often signs of an American rifle supplied to Great Britain as part of Lend-Lease and then returned to the States. Smooth scant pistol grip stock, with "RA", "FJA" and "crossed cannons" ahead of the wrist, double-struck "P" on the wrist, "S.A./JQ" on the left side of the buttstock, "GDM" collection mark between the rear swivel and the toe, a green canvas sling, and a flat checkered buttplate. A "U.F.H. 1943" marked bayonet with sheath is also included. Provenance: The George Moller Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent , with 95% plus parkerized finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall. The stock is also excellent, with a few mild dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is also excellent.
