Description:

Introduced in 1944, the Mark V STEN replaced the full metal construction of earlier STENs with wood furniture, including a forward pistol grip and a No. 4 Mark I SMLE style muzzle with protected front blade sight and lugs compatible with the No. 9 Mark I socket bayonet. The rear sight is a fixed peep. The front grip is attached with a swiveling collar in the area of the "R.F.I. marked" perforated heat shield, and the trigger housing is correctly welded to the receiver tube with an "R" and "A" selector switch and a varnished wood grip. Includes a bayonet with metal scabbard, canvas sling, and two extra magazines in a canvas magazine pouch. Provenance: The Allan Cors Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 75% arsenal refurbished black finish mostly in protected areas, and displaying strong original blue finish underneath of the black paint with some patches of light pitting on top of the magwell, and sharp markings in the metal. Wood is fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled with some light scratches and some filled in repaired holes. Functions in full automatic mode only but otherwise mechanically fine. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
