Dated 1939 over the chamber and marked "42" on the top of the toggle. Two "eagle/655" proofs and the spread winged eagle firing proof appear on the right side of the chamber, with the latter also appearing on the right side of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock. A smaller "eagle/655" is on the upper left rear of the barrel. The upper safety area and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Finish is full blue, and aside from the unnumbered grips the pistol is matching overall in military pattern, including both of the blued body/alloy base magazines (one properly "+" marked to designate the spare). The included black leather C. Weiss holster is marked "WaA750" and "1939" on the back above a hand-scribed "SLEAD", stamped "4251" on the front body and under the flap, and an "eagle/655" proofed takedown tool inside the pouch. Provenance: The Doug Ellison Collection
Excellent, with 97% plus original blue finish, showing some minor spotting and handling marks overall. The grips are also excellent, with a few light dings on the otherwise crisp checkering. The holster is very fine, with minor scuffing and wear. Mechanically excellent.
