The top of the receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY," and the upper tang is marked "MODEL/1894." The receiver, lever, hammer and buttplate are casehardened. The barrel and full length magazine tube are blued. The forearm and straight grip stock are nicely figured walnut. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel and magazine retain 98% original blue finish. The bolt retains 98% original blue finish. The receiver retains 99% plus vivid original case colors. 97% original case colors remain on the hammer and lever. The buttplate has faded to a gray with slight faded hints of original case colors. 97% original niter blue remains on the loading gate. The wood is also excellent with some minor handling marks and most of the original varnish remaining. Mechanically excellent. A great example of an early 20th century Marlin Model 1894 Rifle with highly attractive case colors.
