Excellent Marlin Model 1893 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine

The barrel is stamped with the two-line address/patent date marking above "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL," a marking that was used after 1904. "MARLIN SAFETY" is marked on top of the receiver. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1893." The carbine has a pinned blade front sight, a folding ladder rear sight and a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. The receiver and lever are casehardened, leaving the remaining surfaces blue. The carbine stock is nicely figured American walnut. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

ConditionExcellent, retaining 98% original blue finish on the barrel, barrel bands and magazine. The buttplate has high edge loss and some light spotting with 95% original blue remaining. 97% original niter blue remains on the loading gate. 98% plus vivid original case colors remain on the receiver. 80% original case colors remain on the lever. The wood is also excellent with some minor handling marks and most of the original varnish remaining. Mechanically excellent. A highly attractive Marlin Model 1893 Saddle Ring Carbine with highly desirable fiery case colors.
