Manufactured in 1905, this carbine features a half magazine, barleycorn front sight with 900 yard carbine ladder rear sight. The barrel features the standard two line Marlin legend ahead of the rear sight and "38-40" behind at the breech. The left side of the receiver is fitted with a staple and saddle ring. Mounted to a straight grain walnut carbine forearm and straight grip stock with carbine buttplate. The included factory letter lists this carbine in 38-40 with 20 inch barrel, and half magazine when shipped on September 9, 1905. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Excellent retaining 90% original blue finish with scattered light handling marks on the receiver and some high edge wear. The hammer and lever retaining 80% original muted case colors with limited handling marks. The revarnished wood is very fine with scattered dings and scratches and some edge wear around the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
