Manufactured in 1901 with the standard two-line address and patent dates on the top barrel flat and "MARLIN SAFETY" on top of the receiver. The model designation is on the upper tang, and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. The full serial number, "0226629", is repeated in the stock inlet, and the partial serial number "629" is marked on the left of the upper tang. It is fitted with beaded blade front, elevation adjustable buckhorn rear, and tang mount Marble peep sights. Mounted with a multi-point checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, with stock checkering unlisted as is typical, and shipment on 29 May 1901. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish and 95% case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges and high spots. The wood is also excellent with some scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
