Description:

Manufactured c. 1872-1873 with the early ribbed octagon barrel marked "XXX STANDARD 1872" on the top and "J.M. MARLIN/NEW HAVEN CT." on the left, non-fluted cylinder, and fitted with smooth rosewood grips. Includes a hardwood case. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 70% of the original silver finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey or antique brass patina. The dark grips are very fine with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is good with some crazing in the lid and otherwise minimal handling/storage wear.
