Manufactured from 1863 to 1870, approximately 6,000 total were made, with very few being fitted with Wexler & DeGress grips like this example. The top barrel flat is marked "O.K" and the serial number is on the left of the grip frame and bottom of the barrel. The grips feature the patent marking and leafy vine motifs on the left and the bust of a man in a Corinthian helmet on the right surrounded by leafy vines. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Very good, retains traces of the original blue on the barrel, the balance a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. 25% of the original silver remains on the frame with the balance an antique brass. The grips show an attractive antique copper/brass. Mechanically excellent.
