This is one of an estimated 170 iron frame models that were manufactured towards the end of production, all in the 17,000 serial range of which this example is number 17,967. The left side of the top strap is marked "MY FRIEND" along with the 1865 patent date. The five-shot cylinder is plain while the iron frame features a scroll and punch dot engraving on the sides and engraved accents on the front and on the top strap. A star burst type engraving is featured behind the hammer and the back of the grip area has a checkered panel. The cylinder and cylinder pin are numbered to the gun. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Very good. The revolver retains 25% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The engraving is crisp. Mechanically fine.
