Manufactured c.1869 as one of only some 650 produced. This revolver is a transition between the First and Second Issue Model No. 1 1/2 revolvers. The majority of these revolvers were exported to Japan, making them very rare in the United States. The included factory letter confirms the 3 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish and smooth rosewood grips. it was shipped on March 2, 1869 and delivered to J.W. Storrs, New York City, S&W sole agent from 1857 to 1869.
Fine, with 75% of the original blue finish on the steel frame , gray and brown patina on the iron barrel and cylinder mixed with some light pitting and hammer faded to a gray. The grips are very good with edge wear and small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
