Description:

Manufactured from 1876 to 1891. The left side of the receiver carries the three-line Marlin address/patent dates marking. The rifle is period fitted with a Stevens No. 460 three quarter length telescope mounted in period added dovetails as well as fitted with a dovetail blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The barrel and forearm are numbered to the gun. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 80% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. The action retains 50% original case colors fading to a gray. The wood is also fine with a stress line at the receiver, minor dings and scratches and much of the original varnish remaining. The scope is a mixture of blue finish and brown patina and the optics are hazy. Mechanically excellent.
