CO./CHICOPEE FALLS/1882" on the right side of the action, "EDWARD MAYNARD/PATENTEE/MAY 27.1851./DEC.6.1859" followed by "1873" on the left side, matching numbers on the barrel and lower tang, a fancy grade checkered walnut forearm and stock with grip that has a removable wood insert piece over the lower tang, and a nickel plated Swiss buttplate. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine with essentially all of the original nickel, 80% plus original blue and 85% vivid casehardened finish, some scattered minor marks and scratches, and general light overall wear. The wood is also very fine and has crisp checkering, glossy finish, minor handling and storage wear, and attractive figure. Mechanically excellent.
