Manufactured c. 1883-1890 and subsequently equipped with a #3 Winchester barrel in .32-40 and marked "32/40" on top of the frame at the breech. The barrel has Winchester markings, a globe front sight, a pair of scope mounting blocks, and a rear dovetail filler block. The action has the Bullard address and patent marking on top at the breech and a Vernier peep sight mounted on the upper tang. It is mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with nickel plated Swiss buttplate. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Fine as custom rebarreled, likely in period, with 75% original casehardened finish on the action, 80% of the blue finish, patches of mild pitting on the sides of the barrel, essentially all of the nickel plating remaining on the buttplate, and generally minor overall wear. The wood is fine aside from a small chip on the rear corner on the right of the forearm, some thin cracks in the grain on the buttstock, a few scratches and dings, and minor edge wear. Mechanically fine.
