Description:

Manufactured from 1876 to 1891. The left side of the receiver has the two-line Marlin address/Ballard patent dates marking. The action is equipped with double set triggers. The rifle is fitted with a combination Beach front sight, an elevation adjustable rear sight, and Marlin mid-range folding Vernier tang sight. Includes a hickory cleaning rod under the barrel. The left side of the forearm is inscribed with the initials "W.g.L." Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 65% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The action retains strong patterns of faded original case colors, otherwise a smooth silver gray. The wood is also fine with a few stress cracks on the forearm, splice repair on the comb, and minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
