Manufactured in 1896-1916. Features the No. 44 1/2 action, a globe front sight, wind gauge Vernier peep sight, special order single set trigger, smooth Schnabel forearm and pistol grip stock with high comb, and Swiss buttplate. Very fine with 85% plus original blue finish on the barrel, 75% faded casehardened finish on the action, minimal light fading mainly at the muzzle, smooth brown and gray patina on the buttplate, and minor overall wear. The wood is also very fine and has most of the original glossy finish remaining, some light handling wear mainly on the forend, generally mild marks and scratches, and slight flakes at the edges of the butt. Mechanically excellent.
