Manufactured in 1901. The revolver has a high polish blue finish, with niter blue hammer and trigger, polished hammer sides and oil finished walnut grips absent of any cartouches or inspection marks. The barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side, and has the two line Colt address/1884 to 1895 patent dates on the top, "P" and "R.A.C." on the underside. The "R.A.C." inspector mark is repeated on the back of the cylinder, on the left side of the frame. The left side of the frame is also marked "L.E.B.". The butt is marked "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1901" and "No/166/068" around the lanyard ring. The assembly number "6068" is stamped on the crane, the inside of the frame and on the cylinder latch. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, thinning on the grip straps and some minor scattered spotting. The grips are very good with some wear on the lower edges and a few minor dings and dents. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
