These very attractive continental European holster pistols from the 18th century have long smoothbore barrels with gilded floral and martial engraving, rounded blade front sights, sighting and decorative side flats, and gilt notch rear sights on the tangs. The bright locks have engraved scenes of a lady with a dog and martial trophies along with scroll and floral patterns, and the side plates have busts of a woman flanked by trumpeting supporters. This figure may represent Empress Maria Theresa of the Holy Roman Empire. The rest of the gilt brass furniture is mainly decorated with floral and scroll patterns. The stocks have relief carving and molding.

Exceptionally fine with 30% of the original fire blue and 75% plus of the original gilt finish on the barrel, mostly bright lock with dark backgrounds and minor wear, strong gilt finish on most of the furniture, generally distinct designs, and mild overall wear. The partially restored stock is also fine other than some cracks and repairs concentrated at the pommel and has distinct carving. Mechanically fine.
