Manufactured from 1909 to 1936 with standard Remington markings on the barrel and the Remington-U.M.C. trademark on the lower tang. The receiver is masterfully factory engraved with game scenes featuring rabbits on the left and a squirrel on the right, both of which are surrounded by floral scroll and border engraving which encompasses nearly the entire receiver including the top and bottom, where the hand engraved serial number is located. It is fitted with beaded blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights and mounted with a grooved slide handle and checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and a smooth, Remington-U.M.C. marked, crescent buttplate. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Fine, retains 70% plus of the faded original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges, high spots, and the buttplate, with crisp engraving. The revarnished wood is also fine with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent.
