Rare Marlin Model 47 Slide Action Rifle

One of only 3,900 manufactured. These rifles were an incentive for stockholders to buy four shares at $100 a piece. It features beaded blade front sight with elevation adjustable rear, standard Marlin markings, and a checkered forearm and stock. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

ConditionFine, retaining 60% original blue finish on the barrel and magazine with a thinning to brown on the balance. Receiver retains 50% original case colors with a smooth brown and gray patina on the balance as well as a few minor dings. Wood is very good with evidence of sanding, remnants of checkering on the wrist and forearm, and dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
