Manufactured from 1863 to 1870, approximately 6,000 total were made, with few being of the square butt variety like this early production example. The top barrel flat is marked "O.K" and the serial number is on the butt, bottom of the barrel, and inside the right grip. It is fitted with a blade front sight and smooth rosewood grips.
Very good, the barrel retains traces of original blue finish with a mostly a smooth grey patina on the balance and some very light pin point pitting. The brass has a smooth patina. The grips are good with a couple missing chips and a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
