Only an estimated 850 produced in three variations c. 1861-1864. Both have barrels marked "J.REID.NEW.YORK." and matching serial numbers. "A" is the early style "high hump" variant with the taller hump at the rear and has the brass circular inspection plate on the left and a brass loading gate.
Very good overall with 20% original blue and silver, mostly smooth grey patina, remnants of old varnish, some minor wear and handling marks on the grips, and a hairline crack in the bottom of the right grip. Mechanically excellent.
Later style "straight line" frame variant with the lower hump and the circular inspection plate on the left. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Very good overall with 30% original blue, mottled brown-grey patina, scattered light pitting, some minor handling marks and chips on the grips, and most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
