Description:

Joseph Egg was one of the best gunmakers in London in the early 19th century. These pistols are signed "Josh Egg" on the locks and "London" on the barrels in script and have floral and scroll engraving. The smoothbore barrels have bead front sights, and integral notch rear sights are on the upper tangs. The stocks have checkered bag shaped wrists and silver wrist escutcheons.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a mix of fading original brown finish and brown patina on the barrel, light original case colors, bright original blue finish in the protected areas of the trigger guard, light oxidation, and mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has some mild edge wear, dings and scratches, crisp checkering, and attractive grain. Mechanically fine.

The stock is also fine and has crisp checkering, mild wear mainly on the forend, and light surface scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
