MARY’S WORKS BIRMINGHAM. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS. 1875, 1877 & 1878”, and signed at the breech end “PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST NO. 3048” towards the scroll engraved rib extension. Casehardened action with Greener patent cross bolt, carved percussion fences and blued toplever. Casehardened rebounding sidelocks each signed “W.W. GREENER” and with sculpted hammer. Blued trigger guard and steel butt plate with central stippled panel for additional grip. Fine border and scroll engraving throughout. The underside of the barrels and water table with Birmingham “Not For Ball” black powder proof marks, the water table also with Greener “Elephant” trademarks and marked “W.W. GREENER PATENT”. Well figured 14 1/4 inch semi-pistol grip stock with carved arrow shaped drop points, shaped checkered panels to the grip and forearm, and blank silver oval initial escutcheon beneath the butt.
